YouTube for BusinessesYouTube is a powerful free tool for businesses and organizations to engage an audience with online video. This guide is to help you learn the basics of using YouTube for your business and get the most out of online video.
Creating a YouTube Account for Businesses & OrganizationsYouTube does not currently have business specific accounts, but you can create a free public YouTube channel for your business. We encourage businesses big, small, online and local creating compelling videos to use YouTube to host their videos online for free, which can be embedded on websites, shared across social networks, advertised on YouTube (and beyond!) and engaged with by your customers. To get started creating a channel for your business, you'll need to have a Google account. We suggest using a non-personal Google Account to be linked to your channel. If you don't have a separate Google account for your business, we suggest creating one since Google accounts can only be linked to one channel, which may cause issues with later. See the guidelines below about creating a YouTube account for a business, client or organization. Don't link the YouTube Account to your personal email addressYou should not associate your YouTube Account to a personal email address because if you ever leave your current role, your colleagues will not be able to access the corporate YouTube Account. Your corporate email will no longer be active and consequently your colleagues will not be able to reset the YouTube Account’s password. If they try to do so, the reset password link will be sent to your inactive corporate email account. If you linked the corporate YouTube account to your personal email, you won't want to provide your ex-colleagues with your personal account password in order for them to be able to access the YouTube account.
