As much a life philosophy and an art form as an athletic discipline, parkour is the traversing and scaling of obstacles and barriers through running, jumping and vaulting. Parkour is set apart from political and religious factionalism, violence and militancy. For the latest generation of young Palestinians to have grown up in Gaza's Khan Younis camp under-educated and unemployed, it is the ultimate means of escape.

Taur Matan Ruak looks set to replace Jose Ramos-Horta as East Timor's president.

Provisional results on Tuesday from Monday's election gave the former armed forces chief 60 per cent of the votes counted, giving runoff election rival Francisco Guterres only a slim chance of winning the largely ceremonial post for his Fretilin Party.

Rights violations continue in Bahrain and the government's response to the findings of an international commission of inquiry have proved inadequate, Amnesty International has said.

In a report released on Tuesday, the rights group found that Bahrain had failed to achieve justice for protesters with the piecemeal reforms implemented following the November 2011 report.

Glenn Fontaine Heard an Episcopal bishop say:"We don't need a war on drugs. What we need is a war on despair." The people benefiting from illegal drugs are law enforcement , the incarceration industry, and of course the drug lords. Obama won't move on this in an election year when he needs to suck up to the "moral majority" types even if he wanted to.

John Bentley I detest drugs, but making them illegal gave a massive profit motive for gangsters, resulting in the present troubles. Makiing them legal and available through government controlled outlets will bankrupt the drugs gangs.
