Drexel University Logo

The elements of the logo consist of a wordmark and dragon icon. The logo will always appear in the Minion and Univers typefaces. The logo is not to be replicated using any other fonts.

The logo is to be used on all print and electronic communications and marketing materials; all letterheads, labels, envelopes, and other graphic representations of Drexel.

Incorrect Logo Usage

The logo must not be rekeyed, redrawn, reproportioned, or modified in any form. Individuals should not deviate from the established visual standard by attempting to design their own logos. For assistance in designing secondary departmental logos, please consult the Office of University Communications.

Typography

The Drexel University logo consists of two typefaces. The display-size version of "Drexel" appears in the Minion typeface. "University" appears in Univers. Publications produced by the Office of University Communications will use the preferred fonts, Minion and Univers. However, departments producing their own marketing materials may use suitable replacement fonts; Garamond or Times for Minion, and Helvetica or Arial for Univers.

For general correspondence, the following fonts that complement Minion and Univers are recommended:

• Body Text: Garamond or Times (serif type), 10-12 points
• Headings: Helvetica Bold or Arial Bold (sans-serif type), 11 points

These are standard fonts found on most computers.

Logo Color Combinations for Print

Ink colors used on University publications have been selected to complement the University's established institutional colors of blue and gold. The colors are Pantone Matching System (PMS) 281 blue, PMS 129 yellow (coated stock), and PMS 128 yellow (uncoated stock). These examples represent how the logo will appear when presented in differing paper and ink situations.

Proper Use of the Drexel Web Logo

The Drexel web logo is to be used on all web/electronic communications for Drexel University.

Logo Color Combinations

The approved web logo colors may not be changed. The use of the blue-field logo is for white or light-colored backgrounds on webpages. The use of the gold-field logo is for use on darker web backgrounds. In either case the background behind the logo must never be the same color as the field "blue or gold" used in the logo selected for any Drexel webpage/website.

Graphic Identity Program: Stationery

Drexel University City Main Campus

Letterhead, envelopes, mailing labels, and business cards must reflect the same standards of consistency and quality for all University departments, schools, and colleges. Stationery should be ordered through Drexel Printing and Mailing Services at: 215-895-2797.

Paper

Cougar Opaque Natural is to be used for letterhead and other stationery products. This paper is attractive, cost effective, and does not require orders of minimum bulk quantities.
