A large number of tourists flocked to the Egyptian museum today following the start of the rapid travelling phenomenon known as one-day trips.

Minister of State for Antiquities Zahi Hawass said that the number of tourists to Egypt has been growing in the last few days compared to their low number in past months.

He pointed out that stabilising Egypt’s security situation is the most important measure to regain the customary number of tourists to Egypt. “The ministry is exerting all it efforts in cooperation with the ministry of tourism in order to regain Egypt’s normal tourism movement.”
