The Boylston Food Pantry, located at the Municipal Office Building, will hold evening hours on Mondays, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help run the pantry during these hours. If interested, contact Brittany Blaney-Anderson at bmblaney@gmail.com. The pantry is experiencing an increased need for services. Donations of food and personal care items can be made through the collection basket in the main foyer of the building at 221 Main St.

WEST BOYLSTON — West Boylston will be in court Monday defending the Board of Selectmen's decision two weeks ago to close Reservoir Motor Lodge as of April 17. The motel appealed the decision and an emergency injunction to prevent the closure was issued last week, Town Administrator Leon Gaumond Jr. said.

Editor’s note: The British passenger steamer RMS Titanic, bound for New York on her maiden voyage, struck an iceberg and sank 100 years ago, on April 15, 1912. Yesterday, West Boylston native Joanne Maki Ciesluk wrote about the varying accounts of her great uncle Erick Jussila’s escape from the doomed ocean liner. In part two, she writes about the time after the sinking. Today, Jussila lays at rest beside his family at High Plains Cemetery in West Boylston.
