The Bible says in Proverbs 31:30-31,
"... a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise." (NLT)

Over the years, many of you have written to me about your struggle with guilt and shame. You know your past sins are forgiven, but you still find it hard to live free of the guilt:

"How can I completely get rid of my guilt and feelings of shame?" --Amos

"I am troubled in my heart when I reflect on Jesus' words, specifically when he said, 'You are already guilty when you have evil thoughts in your mind.' What can I do to live free of guilt?" --Steven

No matter how hard we try, some of us can't seem to walk free from persistent feelings of shame. Our guilt has become a prison with heavy bars and thick chains binding us to the past. But the Bible says that Jesus came to set us free.
