IFC Midnight Adds Asylum Blackout and Entrance to Schedule

Indie genre stalwart IFC Midnight's latest additions to its schedule are, as often happens, fairly last-minute in nature, but that doesn't make them any less intriguing. Asylum Blackout finds a group of slacker workers in an insane asylum forced to fight for survival when the inmates escape during a -- wait for it -- blackout. Meanwhile, Entrance is an LA-set thriller about a woman who becomes increasingly aware of an unseen menace stalking her. Asylum Blackout will be available in a limited number of theaters and on demand starting THIS FRIDAY, May 4, and Entrance will be similarly available in two weeks, on May 18.

Sam Raimi might be slowly erasing some of the good will he built up with the horror crowd through his Evil Dead series by venturing not once, but twice into the divisive realm of remakes. First, he began producing a reboot of his beloved Evil Dead, and now, he's reportedly planning on heading the production of a remake of the classic '80s ghost story Poltergeist. Read More...
