FREE Oriental Medicine Workshop For Past & Present Breast Cancer Patients

Tuesday May 1, 2012
Past and present breast cancer patients are being offered a FREE workshop on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Adelphi University. Oriental Medicine: A Gentle Path to Healing will discuss how traditional Oriental medicine combined with conventional medicine can create a dynamic duo in breast cancer treatment.

Participants learn how to use and apply some of the various complementary therapies including:

  • massage
  • Qi Gong (movement/breath exercise)
  • acupressure
  • acupuncture
  • Chinese herbs
  • and moxibustion

There will also be demonstrations of how some of these modalities may be applied.

The workshop will be presented by Liz Snow, BS, MSOM, a NYS licensed Acupuncturist and an Oriental Medicine Practitioner with a private practice in East Norwich, NY. She is nationally certified as a Diplomat in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology and is a Qi Gong practitioner and instructor. Liz was a member of a task force that developed Oriental Medicine protocols for treating breast cancer survivors and is a two-time breast cancer survivor herself.

The workshop will be held at Alumni House, 154 Cambridge Avenue, Adelphi University, Garden City, NY. Pre-registration is required. Please call (516) 877-4325 to register and/or for more information.
