Saudi Arabia, Libya agree to resume bilateral relations

Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal received Abdulbasit Abdulqadir Al-Badri, envoy of the Chairman of the Libyan Transitional Council (LTC), in Riyadh today. During the meeting, Al-Badri conveyed a message to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz from LTC Chairman Mustafa Abdul Jalil. For his part, Prince Saud congratulated the Libyan envoy on the formation of a new government. He reiterated Saudi Arabia’s intention to stand by Libya and wished the Libyan people security, stability and prosperity. Then, the two sides agreed to resume bilateral relations, which will include the reopening of the Saudi Embassy in Tripoli and the exchange of ambassadors.
