Takaful: Annual Conference on Arab Philanthropy and Civic Engagement
The annual Takaful conference provides the first interdisciplinary forum for research in the areas of citizen engagement and philanthropic practice in the Arab region. It is structured to encourage interaction between scholars and practitioners, with the hope of contributing to an enhanced community of practice. Takaful 2012 is organized by the John D. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement. The conference’s keynote speech will be delivered by Tunisian human rights lawyer Radhia Nasraoui.
