IIRC provides urgent assistance to Syrian refugees in Lebanon

March 15, 2012

The Islamic International Relief Commission (IIRC), an affiliate of the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL), has provided urgent assistance to approximately 1,600 Syrian refugee families in north Lebanon, Al-Baqa’a and the border region between Syria and Lebanon. In a statement given in Beirut yesterday, Director of the IIRC Office in Lebanon Abdulkareem Al-Musa said that the consignments included 30-kg food baskets, which have been distributed regularly to the refugees since their arrival in Lebanon. Each basket contains provisions to meet the needs of one family for nearly a month, he said, adding that the IIRC will continue providing this aid until the Syrian crisis is over.
