Super Sunday, unsettled days ahead
The heat and humidity of yesterday has now moved well to our south. The weather today looks nearly perfect with sunshine, low humidity and warm temperatures. Tonight and Monday, the same front that brought our dry weather for today is going to move north, this time, it will bring back the humidity for early next week. Enjoy your Sunday, it's clearly the best one for the next several days.
High pressure, though small, has moved into the area overnight. We are now under a Canadian air mass and thus enjoying dry refreshing air. I wish I could say this pattern would continue, however, that same sticky, warm air mass that was with us yesterday is lurking to our south . Tonight, as the warmer air streams north it will produce clouds and the chance for a few showers.
As I have been saying most of the past week, Memorial Day is a very tricky forecast. The front will be set up right through New England. To the far southwest, across Connecticut there will be some hazy sunshine and some spots will reach the upper 80s. Across the north shore of Massachusetts, it will be mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 60s and a chilly east wind. There is also the risk for a few showers tomorrow moving across the State, especially in the morning. Follow me on Twitter at @growingwisdom for the latest updates to the forecast.
This front, (I am so over this front already) will continue to move back and forth across our area into Tuesday. Finally, on Wednesday, another front will move in from the west and end this part of the unsettled pattern for a bit. However, the story is not over.
On Thursday and Friday we will have to watch exactly how the remains of Beryl, which should then be a former tropical storm, move up the coast. The models are keeping this system offshore right now, which seems like a reasonable forecast based on the upper level pattern. However, if Beryl slows down or speeds up this week, he could impact coastal parts of the Cape and Islands with a bit of rain.
Gardening this week.
Tomatoes are the most popular vegetable to grow for many of you and there are so many varieties that are out there. Check out this video on a few of my favorites. Maybe you have a container or one last spot in the garden to try one.
