Saudi National Campaign for the Relief of the Somali People kicked-off

Following the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi National Campaign for the Relief of the Somali People kicked off today. The humanitarian effort, which is being supervised by Second Deputy Prime Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz, aims to raise donations to alleviate the suffering of the drought-plagued people of Somalia.King Abdullah, Crown Prince Sultan and Prince Nayef have inaugurated the Campaign by donating SR 20 million [$5.33 million], SR 10 million [$2.67 million] and SR 5 million [$1.33 million], respectively.
For the convenience of donors, many methods of contribution are available. The Campaign has allocated a unified account number (104 000 777 77 201) at the National Commercial Bank (NCB) to receive donations of cash and an IBAN number (SA 431 00 000 201 77 777 000 104) to transfer money from accounts at other banks to the Campaign account at the NCB. Deposit can also be made through a toll free number (800-244-3333), through NCB’s website (www.alahlionline.com), through the ATMs of the NCB, or through transfers from ATMs of other banks. Furthermore, the three telecommunications companies in the Kingdom have assigned the unified number 5565 for donations of SR 10 through mobile phones.
According to the Campaign’s Executive Director, Mubarak bin Saeed Al-Bakr, people can also donate foodstuffs, medical supplies and sheltering materials, such as tents, mattresses, and clothes.
