Prince Turki Al-Kabeer leads delegation to Non-Aligned Movement meeting

The Ministerial Meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement began in Sharm El-Sheikh yesterday with the participation of 120 member states, as well as 17 observer countries, and 10 international organizations, including the United Nations and the African Union. The Saudi delegation was led by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Relations Prince Torki bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer. The session was opened by Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Kamel and is set to discuss a number of topics, including the United Nations, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), regional conflicts, international development, economic problems in Africa and human rights.During his address, Prince Torki noted that certain groups in the Middle East are still denied basic justice and human rights. In particular, he condemned the continuing Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories. Confirming Saudi Arabia’s resolute commitment to the Palestinian cause, Prince Torki stressed the importance of reaching a peace agreement based on the Arab Initiative.
