King Abdullah receives Qatari Prime Minister

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al-Thani and his delegation at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah today. After conveying the greetings of Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Prime Minister praised Saudi efforts to expand and improve facilities at the holy sites in order to accommodate Muslim pilgrims.

King Abdullah also received Qatari Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Takaful Charity Foundation Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed and members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Islamic Charitable Organization Dr. Abdullah Matouq Al-Matouq and members of the Organization’s Board of Directors; Rector of the University of Indonesia Dr. Gumilar Rusliwa and a number of the University’s professors; and representative of the Indonesian government. During the audience, the King received an honorary doctorate awarded by the University of Indonesia in recognition of the King’s efforts to achieve world peace. King Abdullah also received the Medal for Charity Work awarded by the International Islamic Charitable Organization in recognition of the King’s efforts to help the needy throughout the world.

The meeting was attended by Makkah Governor Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz; Advisor to the King Prince Abdulilah bin Abdulaziz; Prince Faisal bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabir; Chief of General Intelligence Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz; and a number of princes, ministers and officials.
 
Following the meeting, King Abdullah hosted an Iftar for the Qatari delegation.
