King receives congratulations from President Obama and other world leaders

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has sent a cable to U.S. President Barack Obama in response to the American leader’s message of congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. King Abdullah said, “As I have received your congratulations for us and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr, I express my thanks and appreciation for your noble feelings, wishing your Excellency constant good health and happiness and the friendly people of the United States of America steady progress and prosperity.”

He continued, “On this occasion, I express my pleasure to commend the strong and close historical relations existing between our two friendly countries and what they are looking forward to achieving, peace and justice and enhancing security and stability in the Middle East and all over the world, stressing the eagerness to move forward to further enhance the relations between our two countries in all fields.”

During the past few days, King Abdullah has also received telephone calls from Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed; UAE President Sheikh Khalifah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan; Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani; Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah; Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa; Moroccan King Mohammed VI; Lebanese President Michel Suleiman; Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir; Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh; and Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. The King and the Arab leaders exchanged congratulations and well wishes on the advent of Eid Al-Fitr.
