King Abdullah receives Bahraini King

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa in Riyadh yesterday. During their consultations, the two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation, as well as the latest regional and international developments.At the outset of his one-day visit, King Hamad released a statement hailing the strength of Saudi-Bahraini relations and thanking the Kingdom for its assistance. “We express our appreciation and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the support received by the Kingdom of Bahrain from its sisterly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he stated. “We appreciate the important Saudi role in support of Bahrain’s efforts of development at all levels.” Furthermore, King Hamad expressed appreciation for the “firm positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain in maintaining its security, stability and national unity” and called for a continuation of close ties between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.
The meeting between the two kings was attended by Second Deputy Prime Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz; Acting Riyadh Governor Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud; Chief of General Intelligence Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud; and Commander of the National Guard Prince Meteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. The Bahraini delegation included Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa; Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa; Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Hamad Al-Khalifa; and a number of other senior officials.
