King Abdullah receives Qatari Heir Apparent

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz received at his palace in Riyadh today Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Heir Apparent of Qatar. At the outset, Sheikh Tamim conveyed the greetings of the Emir of Qatar, which were reciprocated by the King. Then, bilateral relations and developments in the Islamic, Arab and international arenas were reviewed.

The audience was attended by Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Defense Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz; Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal; Riyadh Governor Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz; Chief of General Intelligence Prince Meqren bin Abdulaziz; Commander of the National Guard Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; Deputy Foreign Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; and Saudi Ambassador to Qatar Ahmed Al-Qahtani. On the Qatari side, it was attended by Minister of State for Internal Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Thani; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah; Minister of Business and Commerce Sheikh Jassen bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Director of the Office of the Heir Apparent Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Thani; Qatari Ambassador to the Kingdom Ali Al-Mahmud; and a number of other ministers and senior officials.

The Qatari Heir Apparent also attended a luncheon held in his honor by Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz and held separate talks with Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal.
