Order Online But Pay In Person, And Still Walk Away Without Any Purchases?

Monday May 7, 2012

Would you want to order something online, print out the order, and then drive to the store to pay for the order -- in cash only -- after standing in line at the register like other customers and then still not have purchases in hand when you left?

Walmart thinks you will.  According to Walmart officials, only 15% of their shoppers use credit cards to make in-store purchases.  Walmart marketers interpret this to mean that 85% of people using cash in the store will be willing to also go online and "pay" cash.  The assumption is that many people who use cash do so because they do not have credit cards or even a bank account.  Walmart wants to "open" the world of online shop to those who only have cash to spend.
