Constitutional Court is quantum leap on the path of political reform, minister

AMMONNEWS - State Minister for Media Affairs and Communications Samih Maaytah said issuance of a Royal Decree approving the Constitutional Court law after it was endorsed by the Parliament , is a quantum leap on the path of political and constitutional reform.

Maaytah, who is also the government's spokesperson told Petra that the approval of the bill will also enhance the rule of law and achieve justice.

The minister said that the constitutional court was one of the reform and political demands on which all Jordanians, including the leadership as well as political and social forces, were unanimous.

"The accomplishment of the constitutional court law is a further step on the path of reforms that is added to other achievements such as constitutional amendments, the teachers association law as well as the law on the independent commission to oversee the elections, he added.

A Royal Decree was issued yesterday approving the Constitutional Court Law for 2012 as passed by the Senate and the Lower House.
