According to Forbes Middle East, AUC has the top-ranking Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in the Arab region.
After extensive research carried out by Forbes Middle East,
the magazine issued its ranking of MBA programs in the region this week
based on the number of concentrations, cost, length of the program and
accreditation.
AUC’s MBA program, which started more than three decades ago, was ranked
first among similar programs in 37 private universities in the Arab
world. The American University of Sharjah came in second, followed by
the Canadian University of Dubai. Mansoura University was ranked first
among national universities in the region.
“We are very happy to be ranked as the top MBA program in the region,
and we look forward to continuous improvement and success,” said Sherif
Kamel, dean of the School of Business. “Apart from adding to the
reputation of the program, such ranking will benefit our students, as
they will become more visible in the global market.”
In the 2010 QS Global 200 Business Schools Report, AUC’s School of
Business was ranked as one of the best business schools in Africa and
the Middle East. “This ranking shows how the program is being gradually
transformed in terms of content, the way it is being taught, the
exposure our participants get, and this is also reflected in the
feedback we receive from employers,” said Kamel, adding that the program
is being regularly updated to match the top MBA programs in the world.
The School of Business is working on internationalizing
its MBA program by allowing participants to interact with MBA students
from other parts of the world. The MBA Exchange Program, which was
inaugurated in 2011, allows students to pursue a semester abroad
at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, University of
Colorado, University of Arizona, University of Massachusetts or the
University of Washington in the United States. “We also
help our students get exposed to the experience of top executives from
local and international businesses,” added Kamel.
AUC’s School of Business is accredited by the
Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. It
is among 5 percent of all business schools in the world that meet the
strict standards for this accreditation.
