CYBERSQUATTING – Top Shop TV LLC v. Classic Brands LLC
COMPLAINT – Plaintiff owns the mark “DORMEO” for mattresses and sleepwear. Defendant owns “Dormia” for the same products. Plaintiff claims defendant registered 19 “DORMEO” domain names that redirect traffic to defendant’s websites. Plaintiff seeks an injunction, transfer of the domain names, $100,000 in damages per domain name, and corrective advertising. (N.D. Cal.)
SECURITIES – Gaines v. Zynga Inc.
COMPLAINT – In this putative class action, shareholders of game-maker Zynga claim that during the lead-up to the company’s IPO, executives disseminated false and misleading statements (e.g., failing to disclose that agreements with Facebook were set to expire), in violation of section 10(b) of the Exchange Act, causing plaintiffs to pay inflated stock prices.
