Libya’s interim interior minister Fawzi Abdelali has resigned after members of the newly-elected parliament accused his forces of neglect when attackers bulldozed Sufi's Al-Shaab Al-Dahman mosque and shrine on Saturday while police stood by in the latest in a string of assaults on Sufi places of worship. They also condemned the acts of violence.
There has been a low turnout at the elections of the Local Council in Zliten. The number of registered voters reached 74 thousands but only 14 thousand participated comparing to the number of participants in the July National Congress elections which reached 59 thousand.
It is time for Gaddafi loyalists to give up because they are in no position to reverse the progress that has been made in the meantime and their struggle is not for a just cause anyway. By persisting in their terrorist acts, Gaddafi loyalists are only doing great harm to themselves as well as to their near and dear ones.
