The University of Miami is a four-year, coeducational, private research university located in Coral Gables, Florida. It was founded in 1925. Currently, it has 10,509 undergraduate students with an additional 5,559 graduate students. The University of Miami competes in NCAA Division I-A athletics and the school mascot is Sebastian the Ibis. The University of Miami’s colors are orange, green and white. These school colors were established in 1926 and inspired by the Florida orange tree. The current president of the university is Donna E. Shalala.
