Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has killed 35 members of the Party for Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) during a clash with the terrorist group in the country's northwest.

During the clash that took place on Monday, some of the PJAK members were captured by the IRGC, a Press TV correspondent reports.

According to the report, PJAK terrorists moved their wounded members to Iraq, from where they were transferred to the city of Arbil by ambulances belonging to the Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party.

The IRGC has taken control of the terrorist group's bases in the heights of Sardasht, and the attack on PJAK's positions in the border areas of Iraqi Kurdistan is ongoing.

Iran has recently deployed 5,000 military forces in the northwest of the country along its common border with the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

The purpose of the deployment is holding military maneuvers with the aim of stabilizing the border area and fighting counterrevolutionary groups.

In a clash on Saturday four PJAK members were killed by the IRGC.

On July 17, the IRGC disbanded a terrorist cell linked to the PJAK, killing at least five members of the group.

In another operation on July 20, the IRGC forces killed a number of PJAK members, and forced others to escape.

Members of the PJAK -- an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party -- regularly engage in armed clashes with Iranian security forces along the country's western borders with Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region.
