Our work in Nepal

BBC Media Action is working to improve dialogue and debate between the public and those in power in Nepal. Issues covered have included maternal and child health and political accountability. Work has recently broadened to explore the role of media and communication in strengthening resilience in response to climate change. Ground-breaking TV and radio debate programme Sajha Sawal reaches a national audience of 6.5 million. Innovative radio drama Katha Mitho Sarangiko has also raised public awareness on social and health issues such as maternal and child health and gender violence.
