Devonta Freeman ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns, Florida State’s top-ranked defense lived up to its billing, and the No. 10 Seminoles rolled past host Maryland, 41-14, Saturday to capture the Atlantic Division crown.

‘‘One of our first goals is to win the division,’’ coach Jimbo Fisher said. ‘‘Now we have to play the Florida game, get in the ACC championship game and see where that goes.’’

The Seminoles (10-1, 7-1) need a lot of things to fall into place before they can begin thinking about finishing No. 1.

‘‘Hey, there are still a lot of things out there to play for,’’ Fisher said. ‘‘You don’t know what’s going to happen these last two or three weeks. A guy loses here, a couple people lose there . . .’’

The Seminoles wasted little time sending the Terrapins (4-7, 2-5) to their fifth straight loss as Freeman capped an 11-play opening drive with a 5-yard touchdown run.

Notre Dame 38, Wake Forest 0 — Everett Golson threw touchdown passes of 50, 34, and 2 yards and Cierre Wood scored on a 68-yard run as the third-ranked Irish finished the season undefeated at home for the first time since 1998 and kept alive their national title hopes.

The Fighting Irish improved to 11-0 for the first time since 1989 and need to beat Southern California to finish a regular season undefeated for the first time since 1988, the last time they won a national title.

The Demon Deacons (5-6) fell to 1-33 all time against top-five teams.

Clemson 62, N.C. State 48 — Tajh Boyd threw for five touchdowns and ran for three more scores to lead the No. 11 Tigers (10-1, 7-1) to an impressive win over the visiting Wolfpack (6-5, 3-4).

The Tigers gained 754 yards, 2 off the school record. The teams combined for 1,351 yards and the 110 combined points were just 7 off the ACC record set by Georgia Tech and North Carolina last week.

Miami 40, South Florida 9 — Stephen Morris threw for 413 yards and three scores, Herb Waters had an 87-yard touchdown catch for Miami’s longest reception in more than five years, and the host Hurricanes (6-5) rolled past the Bulls (3-7) to become bowl-eligible.

Georgia Tech 42, Duke 24 — Tevin Washington passed for three touchdowns and ran for another score to lead the host Yellow Jackets (6-5, 5-3) past the Blue Devils (6-5, 3-4). end of story marker
