US Sending Missiles, Troops to Syrian Border
Officials: Turkey Deployments Aimed at 'Defending' Border
US troops and Patriot missile batteries will be deployed to southern Turkey, along the border with Syria, in a move US officials claim is aimed at defending against a possible Syrian attack on its much larger and vastly more powerful neighbor.
Of course there is no reason to believe Syria is considering an attack on Turkey in the first place, and indeed much of northern Syria is already in the hands of Turkish and NATO-backed rebel factions, making such a strike even less plausible.
The deployment is said to include two missile batteries and 400 US troops. This is not the only US deployment on the Syrian border, however, as additional US troops were sent to the Jordanian border to prepare a possible invasion of Syria.
Turkey has been seeking deployments of Patriot missiles for quite some time, and while they could be used to impose a no-fly zone in the region, NATO officials insist that this isn’t going to be the case, and that the deployment is rather meant to defend Turkey from a non-existent missile threat.

To "protect" Turkey? You've got to be kidding me! This is the most blatant lie of late. The Syrians have to this day not shown any proclivity for attacking the known terrorist bases inside Turkey so this is all in preparation for the inevitable.

Yet another piece set up by PNAC Israel Firsters. More US lives and treasure wasted for the benefit of another country. Which country does the US government represent?

Don't be worried folks. King Barry will be there shortly to lead them, just like Richard the lion-heart, and since Princess Susie Rice is looking for action, she will no doubt be at the front of those in Jordan. Now, where should Duchess Hillary be sent? Can't leave her in Washington your highness. Hmmmmm? So many brave leaders and so few the crusade action points.

USA is already responsible for this under-cover proxy-guerrilla war were foreign mercenaries and extremist Islamists killed 40,000 Syrians.
Now they want to rise the death toll to 400.000 ! Syria has 22 millions of inhabitants and an army of 500,000 men -Libya had just 5 million people.
Stop these wallstreet killers !!

I would be careful with such exaggerations – not here, but elsewhere could be believed at the end yet.

What Turkey does, actually already is a war against Syria. They harbour the US/NATO/SAUDI/QATARI guerrilla fighters, give them training and sophisticated guerrilla fighter weapons, gudie them by control& command systems and even have many officers and even generals within Syria – even only the captured or killed Turkish military within Syria has reached a high numbers.

Someone needs to ask the Nobel people if they want that prize back.

One of the most remarkable aspects of this move is that the order was signed by Secretary Panetta. Since when has a non-elected bureaucrat the authority to deploy our soldiers? I cannot find that anywhere in our constitution. And why is President Obama hiding behind Panetta? He should have signed that order as CiC or else as the President of a NATO member nation.
The move of these missiles has nothing to do with Syria but only with Iran.
