Let's set aside values. Are we indeed prepared to reinforce our status as an occupying state that controls another people for a prolonged period? Let's set aside justice and morals. Are we indeed prepared to turn Zionism into an apartheid movement that denies millions of residents their basic rights? Let's set aside identity. Are we indeed prepared to exchange a Jewish democratic state for a state of...

The right is a danger to Israel
An Israel that insists on national pride but that is harming national security and eroding national fortitude in a dangerous way.

03 14 37another irrational hysterical article
- By joe

this is another irrational hysterical article by the far leftist in the far leftist newspaper. ari shavit again tries to scare us with a few likud backbenchers while ignoring the facts. the facts are that this government has not advanced any rightist policy that previous governments had not advanced before. on the contrary, this government showed much restrain when dealing with gaza during the last campaign. it did freeze the settlements building for 10 months, smth. that no other government did before. it maintained stable economic policy, healthier than in most european countries. shelly from the labor party scares me much more than bibi because she will ruin the economy and we will find no friends in europe or us to help us even if we fully engage in the peace process. i hope that the next government will be formed without shas and the haredim, so that we can deal with the social and economic problems in this country. i have absolutely no illusions re; the peace with arabs. we'll just have to manage the situation for a very long time, there will be no shortcuts for comprehensive peace.

Not at all

The decision to proceed with more building in the occupied territories is that of a child who does not get his way. That is the leadership that we have. Ee are in dire straights the way this government is going - no friends, no economic ties. Apartheid South Africa and Smith's Rhodesia collapsed due to sanctions not insurgency. Isael does not have the natural resources which those countires had.

Dear Ari, 12/6/12 You're absolutely right, but because there is nothing and no one to stop the right-wing madness, what you wrote about will come true. Why don't you address the ego-mad and supposed "opposition" leaders and tell them point blank to "patriots all" join ranks and just for the logic of such, stop this ride off the cliff that Netanyahu is surely going to lead us all to. I find their arrogance and blindness to the truth, as deadly as the right-wing madness.
