Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities:
· Go through all news updates - newspapers, internet, wires, bureaus in addition to his/her own contacts
· Coordinate with bureaus and assign stories to the correspondents
· To get exclusive News on a regular basis
· Go through the news wires from our International Correspondents
· Go through the Forward Planning Schedule for future events
· Participate in the new business program ideas generation brainstorming sessions, testing and filtering them against time-slot, competitive trends, target audience, and corporate strategic objectives, costing & budgeting
· Coordinate for the best possible guests for the bulletins
· Assign bulletin’ stories to writer/reporters and ensure they are provided with proper editorial angles
· Analyze new business stories & improve the overall look of the Business Bulletins
· Follow-up on all Business bulletins and programs production details; editorial judgment & approval, running order, crawlers' priorities, SAT booking, and live transmission
· Ensure that all operation tasks are met (SNG bookings, Accreditation, Crew)
· Brief Studio Directors about the news content, look & technical requirements
· Ensure the accuracy and correctness of the business crawlers (both News and Stocks)
· Ensure that all Lead-ins are up-to-date & rephrased as required
· Check the quality of produced stories and reports developed internally and from bureaus editorially before going live
· Monitor the live production of the bulletin and act if any-problem occurs
· Make sure that the content of the news is rich with different genres
· Deal with any issues / concerns of team members. Ensure that team is amply motivated
· Provide coaching for staff to improve their editorial capabilities
· Improve Business bulletins ratings and increase Business bulletins market share in terms of share of audience in existing and new markets
· Produce targeted number of Business bulletins hours in agreed timeframe and budget & in accordance with Group Editorial Policies and guidelines
· Ensure that Business bulletins’ production is of high editorial & technical quality and that the budget variance is kept to minimum
· Perform other tasks & duties as and when required
Requirements:
· Minimum 7 years of experience in Broadcast
· Holder of Bachelor’s degree
· Fluent in Arabic and English
· Experience in Media and News production, as well as development of News production strategies in reference to Business targeted audience behaviors, characteristics & trends, and competition
· Experience in business related news and in creating stories/script/summaries and also in issues and subjects of interest to the Business audience
· Specialized in the Market/viewer’s approach (interpretation and analysis of audience behaviors and requirements).
