5.0 out of 5 stars An outstanding benchmark book on the Iranian nuclear crisis
This book ranks with the very best in scholarly research, analysis and authority.Certainly there are no other contemporary books on the subject that come near, though Trita Parsi's "Single roll of the dice" would come in second.

This book ranks with the very best in scholarly research, analysis and authority.Certainly there are no other contemporary books on the subject that come near, though Trita Parsi's "Single roll of the dice" would come in second.

The author's credential's are impeccable and through his own integrity in refusing the offer of the job of Minister of Foreign Affairs,- 2005 under the current President, because he disagreed with his foreshadowed foreign policies, he suffered. That he did not let this experience sour his views is remarkable.

The book tracks in great absorbing detail the history of this subject, which is essential to an understanding of this complex subject. It reveals the continued duplicity of the USA throughout and hoyw at least the three most powerful nations of Europe in the UK. France and Germany, were cowered and bullied by the USA and are to this day.

The author Seyed Hossein Mousavian however does not spare Iran under its current leadership from fault and to his credit makes objective comparisons and draws clear conclusions, some of which reveal Iran in recent years had a tendency to shoot itself in its foot.

For leaders and senior officials of the two most protagonist countries, in Iran and the USA, this book is a must. Not to read it is to ignore the profound mistakes of history and repeat them ad nauseum.

When one considers the consequences of the blatant continued ignorance and prejudice towards Iran by the West and the coded/disguised underlying theme of them seeking regime change, something the author is very clear about, to perpetuate such ignorance and prejudice which may well lead to cataclysmic regional if not global war, would be unforgivable.

This review is from: The Iranian Nuclear Crisis: A Memoir (Paperback)
No matter to which party you belong, this is a historical book to have as a reliable source of information. It is a must to have it for every Iranian, just as having Shah-Nameh or Hafiz.

4.0 out of 5 stars A rare insight into Iran's thinking, July 15, 2012
This review is from: The Iranian Nuclear Crisis: A Memoir (Paperback)
If you wonder how Iranians see the nuclear negotiations, in fact if you want to know in great detail how these negotiations have happened since 2003 this is the book for you. It is not sufficiently critical of Iran but it does a good job of covering every detail and also showing how Iran has seen the picture.

1.0 out of 5 stars It is time to understand Iran, not through economic oil driven interests ., December 22, 2012
It is time to understand Iran, not through economic oil driven interests . This book is another which blames the world, Israel and America for Tehran's terrorism. Under the Shah Iran had warm relations with most countries in the Middle East . Iran was the first Muslim Nation to recognize the State of Israel. Iran was at one time an important ally of America. So what changed ? The rise of Khomeinism, this theocratic government principle of guardianship of the jurisprudent was kept hidden until after the 1979 Iranian Revolution. The idea that the ruler of the state must be the person best qualified to interpret Islam and enforce Muslim law upon the people is enshrined in the constitution of the Islamic Republic, which vests full power in the jurisprudent (faqih) at its head in the position commonly known as "Supreme Leader". Iran's defense spending as a share of GDP only appears to be relatively low compared to the rest of the region, that is because it is hidden through Privatization Through privatization Khamenei has transferred control of Iran's Commerce, Industry, Oil, Gas and Public Services Sectors to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard. Since Khomeinism , introduction of the cult of the Islamic Suicide bomber, its shipping industry is continually found to be arming terrorists around the world . Tehran has spent billions of its oil revenue on its wars of terror, from Hezbollah to Hamas, against America, against Israel destroying the peace process there. The US Treasury Department designated the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) "for its support to terrorist groups as well as its central role in perpetrating human rights abuses against the citizens of Iran and its role in supporting the Syrian regime as it continues to commit human rights abuses against the people of Syria."Al Qaeda and its affiliate, al Qaeda in Iraq, are among the terrorist groups supported by the MOIS, which is Iran's chief intelligence agency. Iran has been the number one source of IEDs and has killed and maimed hundreds of US Soldiers.. Khomeinism is at war with the world, its course towards a nuclear armed to push forward this war is a clear and present danger it is time to recognize this . "Establishing the Islamic state world-wide belong to the great goals of the revolution."Quotes from Ayatollah Khomeini By Dr. Jalal Matini Translated by Farhad Mafie, July 25, 2003
