Racing to the finish line

– One last hurdle to jump

Our fundraising is going much better – thank you! – but we still aren't there. And we aren't kidding when we say that failure to meet our goal of $60,000 will have to mean cutbacks in the coverage and services you are used to. We'll have to make cuts in our already minuscule staff. We live on a very tight budget, and every penny of our projected income is spent on the basics: a cutback, no matter how little, has a big impact, and – well, let's just say it won't be pretty.

Yes, we've averted utter catastrophe – thanks to the generosity of our readers, who responded to the emergency appeal we made on Friday – but now we need to avert the kind of cutbacks that would seriously impair our ability to bring you the best antiwar news and views on the Internet.

We'd like to be able to continue to upgrade the site – but we won't be able to do that if we don't make our goal all the way to $60,000.

The War Party never lacks for funds, and the Peace Party – that's us – is continually on the edge of bankruptcy. Is this the natural order of things? It doesn't have to be that way. Your contribution is tax-deductible – so why not do it? If you can determine whether your money goes for a new bunker-buster bomb or to Antiwar.com, why choose the former?

Help put us over the top – and ensure that we continue to give you the kind of Web site you've come to expect: give as much as you can, as soon as you can – contribute today.

In the first five days of our drive, 976 of you gave a total of $48,892. Thank you! We are now on track to reach $60,000 to keep Antiwar.com running for the next quarter. Please help make our goal.
