Published December 20, 2012
The Pulitzer Center is looking for an intern to work with us on our e-book marketing strategy and implementation for 10-15 hours a week in the spring semester (or full-time for the January semester). We view e-books as a way to increase access and engagement with vital global issues and as a potential revenue-generator for in-depth international journalism. The intern will be responsible for a variety of items, including cultivating a list of journalists, book reviewers and bloggers; identifying promotion opportunities; and conducting market research to assist us in creating a longer-term strategy in eBook pricing and marketing. Our e-books are made for use in classrooms and for the general public. To learn more about our existing e-books, please see http://pulitzercenter.org/reporting/ebooks.
Ideally, you are:
- Experienced in creating and implementing marketing strategy online and off-line.
- A self-starter with a good sense of humor and networking.
- Experienced with social media, Google Adwords, Facebook and more traditional forms of advertising.
- Adept at research and knowing who to call to get answers.
- A reader of e-books and excited by international issues!
More about us: The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting is an innovative award-winning non-profit journalism organization dedicated to supporting the independent international journalism that U.S. media organizations are increasingly less able to undertake. The Center focuses on under-reported topics, promoting high-quality international reporting and creating platforms that reach broad and diverse audiences. The Center's educational programs provide students with fresh information on global issues, help them think critically about the creation and dissemination of news, and inspire them to become active consumers and producers of information.
Remote internship possible. Internship is paid; salary negotiable. To apply, please send your resume and cover letter to jobs@pulitzercenter.org ASAP. We would like the intern to start in January.
