    Hello there,
I made a request for opening up the Traditional Chinese option for bbPress a week ago but haven’t gotten any response yet. http://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/2013/01/08/hi-there-i-have-partially-translated-bbpress-2-2-3/
Wonder if someone can help me out or at least point me to the right direction?

    Thanks

Hi, unfortunately nobody is validating the italian translation for BBpress even though it is ready (http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/2.2.x) I guess we need a new validator as the person in charge for the italian language seem not to be doing much, otherwise it is pointless having this project in place. Can anybody advise? Thanks

For long time nobody take care of it an no contribution was done.. I’m happy to know there is a translation full ready and i’m going to approve it. U can contact me and we coudl arrange a way to have a more often approval cycle… unfortunatly the platform actually didn’t send any warning to validators about new translation waiting.. and life is short and busy and sometimes people forgot to checkl it.

I approved thall the translation waiting.. but… the project IT’S NOT READY cause there are still 658 untralsated strings… i approvede alla the translated strings even if iI do not agree on some translations.. like keppeing Posting untraslated when Pubblicazione would be better… but after we got a full translation single translations can be improved in the future.

Thank for the contribution till now and let me know when u have a bunch of new string waiting.. maybe mailing me directly

    Hi,

We have a little problem: automatic traslation is not working in GlotPress for galician language, although our language is supported in the Google tool.

Error in translating via Google Translate: undefined!

Can you solve this problem, please?

Google Translate has turned off the option to translate on the fly, so you’re going to have to do without :)

All right. I have not used it, but for many contributors it was useful.

If you believe you should be able to access the “BuddyPress 한국어” dashboard, please contact your network administrator.” What can i do for fix this error???

We have a little problem with the community forum of galician translators. Currently we are using a BuddyPress support forum thread: http://buddypress.org/support/forum/plugin-forums/wordpress-en-galego/

Paul Gibbs have sent us this notice:
“Why are we discussing translation of WordPress on the BuddyPress.org support forums?
This is probably better discussed on your WordPress.org i18n site, or on http://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/.”

Our community is very small and has few contributions lately. Today we only have time to do some work on the translations of WordPress. The translation of BuddyPress and other additions are waiting, and we don’t know when we will be able to take them again.

Until now, maybe by carelessness or lack of time, we have no forum in the galician WordPress i18n site.

Under this circumstances, we continue to work as before, waiting for better times with complete translations and enough time to have a forum on our WordPress i18n site.

I contact polyglots forum in order to see what we need to have updated site and forum.

When I have an answer, I will post in the galician translators BuddyPress site, in order to leave the BuddyPress thread as soon as possible, when any of the Contributors commit to undertake the changes.

        Hi,

The es_ES group work together in a yammer group, and before we were using a google groups. Every environment is good to get the work done, don’t wait for anything “official” ;)

The site http://gl.wordpress.org still exists and you are its admin. As to forums, we are moving to the bbPress plugin on rosetta sites, but not quite there yet. I agree that debating translations on BuddyPress’ main forum is not ideal, and would recommend, for now, to use a bbPress installation of your own, or some other solution, like a Google Group.

Howdy! I didn’t mean to be rude on the BuddyPress forums, I hope I was not misunderstood; it just seemed odd to talk about WordPress translations on the BuddyPress forum.

If you need a place to talk BuddyPress translations, please see http://bpdevel.wordpress.com/2013/01/01/spent-some-time-today-cleaning-up-the-many/

      • http://gl.buddypress.org/ already exists. Do you have access?
      • If you read the linked post, we can set up a bbPress forum there. Perhaps this might be a good place for any discussion until forums can be made on the wordpress.org sites?
      • pcgaldo 1:40 am on January 15, 2013 Permalink | Reply

You didn’t seem rude, certainly not. Don’t worry.

Sure that it seems odd, especially when you work daily in the development of WordPress and BuddyPress and you are aware of the developments that arose. We, however, have very little activity since early 2012.

From our point of view, we find ourselves something misplaced. We are few translators, with not much time to devote to this projects. Every time we want to focus on the translation work we find some changes in the platform that involves adding more work to what we already have until complete our mission.

I have access to gl.buddypress.org, but we still have to decide who will take care of projects from now. There are many unknowns. For now, we want to finish the translation of WordPress 3.5 and upgrade the trunk. Regarding the renewal of platforms and translations of plugins and other flavours, we have to wait for new managers of galician translation team (when they appear) to express their goals.

I will pass on your recommendations to the rest of collaborators, to see if anyone takes care of it.

        Thanks a lot.

Sorry, I tagged the previous question incorrectly :S

Can someone check if there is something wrong for deploy requests in basque (eu) rosetta site? There is a veeery long deploy request lists, and those jobs can’t be undone, also every time I ask a deploy, I get permission errors, like this:

    “”Couldn’t copy /tmp/rosetta56lJ5y/eu/dist/wp-config-sample.php to /tmp/rosettaLfPqtr/wordpress!””

    Thank you,

I’ve been using WP for a while now, and feel like I can help with its development. How can I do it? Do I join a certain team of developers, for example? I am interested in translation to Russian and/or Ukrainian. Can anyone help me?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Ze,
    Just to remind you:
1- AZ page does not let me do the editing, it keeps redirects to Global!
2- AZB page has to be named as “آذری” because گؤنئی آذربایجان is the geographical name for South Azerbaijan. Name of the language is “آذری” which is the short version for “آذربایجان تورکجه سی”.
3- I do not know where to upload the translated files? Any help please?
    Regards
