SANDY HOOK REALITY CHECK

I admit that I tend towards believing in conspiracies. Whether it’s Oklahoma City, 9-11, the London Bombings, Pearl Harbor, the sinking of the Lusitania, the bombing of the USS Maine, I find the conspiracy theories believable and compelling.

At best, I believe governments actively lie and deceive their citizens. At worst, I believe governments actually create and perpetrate these horrible national events to further their own ends.

I know there are very level-headed, rational, thoughtful people here among the TBP regulars. So, I ask you:

Can someone please explain to me the reaction of Robbie Parker, who lost his daughter in the Sandy Hook shooting? I cannot make sense of his behavior here. This man lost his daughter the day before in a horrific shooting, and yet he is laughing and smiling, and approaches his speech with a sly, confident grin on his face? His emotions appear to be fake. His eyes are dry. The entire emotional content of his speech seems insincere. How this man could be anything but completely devastated is beyond me.

Also, there are photos of this man with his wife and children posing in photos with Obama, and they are smiling and appear happy, even overjoyed.

Is he an actor? Is he somehow being told what to say? Is he an Obamanoid true-believer who is content to be a tool for the media? Is he for real? What is going on here?

Sorry, I can’t seem to properly paste the video here.

Sure was a handy incident to accelerate the clamp down on guns in amerika. If it looks too good to be true it probably is.

About Robbie- without being around the guy to get a better read on his character traits it’s hard to call, but appears to me to be a lousy actor.

MSM is the propaganda machine after all.

I apologize if I was not clear in my post. To answer your question: Yes, I am going to go there. Yes, I did go there.

Why should I be bullied simply because I do not believe what I see on television, hear from the government, and learn from the mainstream media?

Here’s what I see on television:

I see a President who won a Nobel Peace prize who wantonly attacks other countries.

I see a man who swears he will not monetize the debt, while he is openly monetizing the debt.

I see a world-class bicyclist who swears he did not dope, while he was actually a world-class doper.

I see rich men telling us not to buy gold because it is in a bubble, while they are buying gold.

I hear absolute silence about Fukushima, which is actually a threat to the entire world.

I hear that there is no inflation, when in fact there is rampant inflation.

So I am to be derided because I question what I see and hear from the media?

Thank you for your opinion. I asked to hear it, and I read it several times. I will incorporate it into my understanding of the event that happened in Sandy Hook.

In the video clips I’ve watched, not a tear did I see. Not one. Not even from the people leaving Emilie Parker’s funeral.

Who poses for a smiling, laughing? (photo op) with ANYONE (even The One :-P ) so soon after your small child was MURDERED, AT SCHOOL?!?!

The parents smiling and yakking it up with Anderson Cooper? I thought I was gonna puke.

The “aunt” who misspoke about Emilie Parker’s “big” sisters? WTH?!?!

And what was even the point of Robbie Parker doing a press conference??? Maybe someone can clue me in.

    The medical examiner laughing???

Was there ever an ambulance, even one, directly in front of the school, just in case even one person was clinging to life???

No video released from the school’s security cameras? Not even 1 still shot? Maybe I missed it.

    And much more…..

I so wish we had some real journalists in this country who would pursue this and clarify some of the many oddities surounding this event.

    The whole thing was surreal.

It has got to be the most bizarre thing I have EVER seen.

The more I think about it, here is what I meant to say:

I realize that The Burning Platform discourages conspiracy theories, because they involve outright speculation in the absence of the actual facts (usually because the government refuses to release the facts for the public).

I understand the The Burning Platform focuses on the “hard”, fact-based, numbers-based areas like economics and money, because in these areas one can refute the government statistics and government assertions as to what is true and what is not.

My point is this: The only mentally-healthy, intellectually-honest, reasonable reaction to any information coming from the mainstream media or government is complete, outright skepticism.

Unless you can actually verify the facts for yourself, and corroborate them from multiple independent sources, the free-thinking person must disbelieve all information on the television.

Desiring Liberty and Self-reliance also has ramifications on your digesting of information. If you love Liberty and Self-reliance, then you must also be a Sovereign thinker and a Sovereign over your own understanding of reality and truth.

People have become overly reliant on the media to tell them what reality is. And for the media to also tell them what the MEANING of what they have seen is.

Just as resistance to tyranny being obedience to God, as Jefferson said, a Liberty loving person must forge their own judgment and struggle to achieve clarity and accumulate wisdom.

Reliance on state-run media and information equals the death of the ability to think critically.

I’m sorry but I’m with Yo on this one, it was this particular video that made me question the entire thing. Before I saw this video I assumed it was all real, but once I saw it I had to question everything, it was that weird and out of place.

I cannot for the life of me understand the emotions on this guys face before the interview. I’m sorry but I have four kids and if something like that happened to my kids I would hardly be able to talk much less to do a speech on CNN. And there is no way I would be smiling or happy in any way. Hell I was heartbroken just watching the entire spectacle all weekend. I had not watched CNN in a while, who does anymore, and my wife wanted to watch that channel and it seemed like every ten minutes they would stop reporting news and tell us that guns are bad. The whole thing, whether real or not, is still very much sickening the way the vultures took advantage of it.

  10. AKAnon says:

If the first few seconds of Mr. Parker’s appearance is the issue, I’d say that is not at all unreasonable. Many folks laugh and/or smile when uneasy or in an awkward situation. I won’t throw the guy under the bus for a momentary smile in the face of tragedy. Or for his comment about a “facebook page for Emily”. If this is all you got to prove conspiracy, you don’t have much.

However, there’s a lot of questions that trouble me more than Emily’s Dad smiling. The first few days of news was so unbelievably fucked up, inconsistent and downright contradictory to the “final” (edited?) version that I just don’t know what to think. I do think that at least some of the media are downright criminally liable for spreading inaccurate and unverified information, but I don’t know which. As Dire Straits once observed “Two men say they’re Jeebus. One of them must be wrong”.

In my humble opinion there cannot be a lie or conspiracy about a child who died. As for your pics Jim, the two older girls look so much alike that the girls could be mistaken for each other by media? The sisters might all have the same dresses.

OK. Here is what I guess happened at the school:

Adam Lanza went to the school with multiple guns. He most likely used the handguns in the school, not the rifle. The videos were not released because they would have shown him without a rifle in the school. The medical personnel were kept out (mostly) of the school because they would have seen the cartridge casings on the ground, and understood they were handgun casings.

This is why the medical examiner seemed so incompetent. He was told to lie about the event, or was just given a set of facts he did not verify.

The Obama administration and the media did a full-court press on the parents. Tons of attention. Tons of charm. The parents were most likely already Obama-philes. He appealed to their narcissistic side and charmed them. Under the lights of the media, and the President, they were steered towards repeating the government story, with the government talking points.

Robbie Parker was not an actor. He just appeared to be one. Under the massive attention given him, with all the cameras and media personalities, and told by the media when to show grief, his emotions were not natural and timely to his personal grieving, and so appeared fake.

In their love for Obama, and Obama’s love for himself, they all basked in the glow of narcissism in the photos where they are all smiling.

This story is about control by the government and media of the story line (we need gun control), control of the facts (handgun vs. rifle), the exploitation of an event by the media to get viewers, and the perversion of human reactions when under the intense media and Presidential focus.

From start to finish, it is an indictment of our government, media, and personal failings as a society.

    Happy now?

I believe you are 100% wrong … along with all the others who question the father’s emotions and/or “fake” tears.

Did I find it a bit unusual? Yes. Would I have reacted that way? No. But, what does that matter? Who am I to decide how another person expresses grief? Who am I to judge? Isn’t this true — that we each grieve in our own way?

My stint in the Air Force included being a member of the Honor Guard — the 21 gun salute thing at funerals. So, I was at a funeral at a black church for a black kid who died in Vietnam. It was … different. EXTREMELY emotional. Lots of wailing and sobbing in the beginning of the service. Then the preacher preached. And by the time he got to talkin’ about the Resurrection and the family reunion with Jesus the congregation AND family were whoppin’ and hollerin’ and crying and laughing and shouting “Praise the Lawd” at the top of their lungs, literally.

So, for me, questioning how this father grieves is extremely disrespectful, judgmental, and wrong.

I just don’t know. There was clearly a shooting at this school but all the conflicting reports and data is very troubling.

    1) What happaned to the guy in black camo they found in the woods nearby immediately after the shooting? (What happened to the “well dressed” man that helped the underwear bomber get on the airplane?)

    2) Are the weapons recovered at the scene the same ones owned by Nancy Lanza and allegedly used by Adam Lanza?

    3) If an “assault rifle” was used to kill these children, then why were the LEOs filmed taking one out of Adam’s car trunk AFTER the shootings?

    4) Are the wounds on the victims consistent with the guns and ammo owned by Lanza? Will the coronor’s report ever be made public??? (JFK assassination??)

    5) What about the reports of a second shooter in the early 911 tapes? Have the unedited 911 tapes been released? (The entire 9/11 inquiry)

    6) Why was there an “active shooter” drill occurring in a local school at the same time as Sandy Hook? (Like the air force “drill” occurring on 9/11).

This whole thing just seemed too pat to me, sorry. The murder of little WHITE children by the son of a PREPPER using semi-automatic hand GUNS and a scary “assault rifle” – all just after the election in the lame duck session.

Meanwhile TOTAL SILENCE from the MSM/WH about the hundreds of dead Mexicans from Fast & Furious, the hundreds of dead via drone strikes (one an American citizen) on SOVEREIGN nations, the hundreds of dead in Chicago (including 60 children), and the millions of dead children killed in the abortion mills of the fed.gov supported Planned Parenthood.

There are conspiracies out there, such as; 1) the kids, at least most of them, didn’t die .. or didn’t die from gunshots as reported, 2) some government cabal — not necessarily Obama — planned this murder in order to accomplish some anti-gun / populace disarmament policy. Anyone remember Waco? Or the 500,000 Iraqi children killed by the sanctions of Bush I and Clinton? Or the hundreds of thousands killed in U.S bombing campaigns and artilliery strikes from the Civil War up to the present time? Don’t forget the Indian Wars, where children were often targeted as it was held that ‘nits make lice’.

Yojimbo – I’m with ya. With fraud, corruption, collusion, cover-ups and lies coming at us thick and heavy, we are not supposed to have a very healthy skepticism on this? You’d be an idiot not to question everything you hear.

Admin – I think the oldest and middle daughter look very much alike; they have their mother’s chin and smile.

As far as the father laughing, yes, some people get nervous and giggle (me!), but I can tell you I wouldn’t have been smiling here. A lot of these people are very religious, so they just believe it was God’s plan and that she’s being looked after, case closed. And some people just do not love as deeply: witness the amount of children who are abused and sometimes killed at the hands of their parents every day. Some people profess a love, but are just incapable of loving. We can’t get inside the dad’s mind here.

At this point, my mind is open to all possibilities; to close it is stupid. When a government keeps secrets, colludes, lies, spins, they are asking for people to start questioning. When things don’t add up, when your own government is not forthcoming, then the following just might be true: that a paranoid really does know a little bit of what’s going on.

Was it ever clarified whether or not Mrs. Lanza was a teacher at the school? Currently or at anytime in the past? The school nurse? of 15 years? supposedly said (to a reporter?) that she was. But later reports I heard said she had never been a teacher at the school.

“There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one’s own safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn’t, but if he was sane, he had to fly them. If he flew them, he was crazy and didn’t have to; but if he didn’t want to, he was sane and had to.”

We know about Waco and Iraq and dozens of other times where are rulers killed children with impunity, so we know **elites will kill children for political purposes**.

So why, time and again, is the “lone nut” option the only possibility the media offers up?

Why would skepticism of the media’s goals and unhealthy relationship with elites not be universal?

Why are Americans so brain-washed to think conspiracies don’t happen here?

How long will it be before Americans get tired of “sloppy journalism”, “mistakes were made”, “fog of war” type excuses as unanswered questions and unresolved discrepancies remain unanswered and unresolved and disappear down a rabbit hole?

It seemed like it was an idea that had been stowed away years ago but it seems to be one of the more critical links to so many of our problems. We just don’t act like we own ourselves, we act like we are owned (in general, I’m quite aware you do not AWD, Admin, Stuck, etc.).

Even so, it’s an idea that should be repeated many times daily by all who know it. It is the gospel of redemption. We’ve pared down the concept to phrases such as “individual responsibility” which seems to indicate that one takes care of their shit inside of the “slave system”, so-to-speak.

I don’t know what happened at Sandy Hook, I will never know, and I doubt anyone here will. But it’s true we all know the government is diabolical and isn’t our friend. Conspiracies are a great way to eat up excess frustration…all that energy misdirected into arguments and ad hominem.

    BTW, what’s for dinner tonight?

Stucky took his ball and went home. (from urban dictionary):

    1. I’m going to take my ball and go home!

I want to be in control of the situation and if I can’t then no one is going to be allowed to be happy about the outcome.

The expression comes from the playground where one kid, the one who owns the soccer ball or basket ball, doesn’t get his way in the game. If he doesn’t get his way then he gets mad and punishes those who are unwilling to accept his mandate. He does this my taking his ball and going home thus ending the game and any fun the participants were having.

The expression “I’m going to take my ball and go home” when directed at an individual is used to illustrate the individual’s immaturity when that person can’t get his way and no longer wants to be a participant in the conversation or a contributor to solving a problem.
Billy: “Its my solution or this meeting is over and I’m out of here. You guys will just have to work this weekend without me to fix the problem.”

I reviewed a few youtube videos and I picked out two that I felt were objective enough to link here. On the morning of December 14th, the MSM stated repeatedly that Adam Lanza, the skinny, shy, (dead) kid on meds was the prime suspect. All gun owners and the NRA were immediately demonized.

As it turns out, the local police nabbed a despicable POS in the woods outside the school by the name of Christopher A. Rodia, an multiple felony offender. It was also reported that there were additional suspects that drove a red or maroon van that were pursued by the police. These suspects seem to have faded out of the investigation. The MSM also stated that the Adam Lanza drove his car to the school that morning. The car in question with CT plates shown in first video (I think) belonged to Chris Rodia, not Lanza. If you feel strongly about this tragedy, I would recommend you view these two videos, the first one following police radio traffic on that day.

Why Sandy Hook Massacre Spawned Conspiracy Theories

    by Benjamin Radford, LiveScience

One month after the Sandy Hook school shootings, the list of victims continues to grow. One man, Gene Rosen — who found six children and a bus driver in his driveway, brought them into his home, fed them and called parents to assure them that their children were safe — has been harassed by telephone, email and online by those who think he is lying about his actions, and is part of a conspiracy.

Rosen is not the first hero to be assaulted and insulted by conspiracy theorists with doubts. In 2002, when conspiracy theorist Bart Sibrel confronted astronaut Buzz Aldrin and called him a “coward and a liar” for faking the moon landings, the 72-year-old promptly punched Sibrel in the face.

A group called the Sandy Hook Truther movement has emerged from the dust and chaos over the past weeks to claim that the school shooting was all a staged event. Though many Americans are outraged and incredulous that anyone could doubt that the tragedy even happened, the Sandy Hook school shootings follow classic conspiracy thinking. Here are a few reasons why.

    Poignant political implications

Shootings — even child murders — happen every day, several times a day, in America. According to UNICEF, America has the worst record of child abuse and homicide in the industrialized world, with an average of 27 children killed every week by their parents and caregivers. But those child murders don’t have implications for enacting a national policy on gun control.

Most events producing conspiracy theories have important social and political implications, and the Sandy Hook shootings are no exception. No one, regardless of what side of the gun control issue they are on, can deny that guns played a key role in the Sandy Hook killings. So the conspiracy theorists must instead challenge the claim that the attack even occurred. They believe it’s all a hoax to scare people into supporting more gun control and a step toward an outright repeal of the Second Amendment. [5 Milestones in Gun Control History]

    ‘Holes’ in the ‘official story’

A common theme running through conspiracy thinking is that if you’re smart enough, and just look closely enough at all the news coverage and available information, you can see lies and contradictions in accounts of the event. Truthers claim that they have found “absolute proof” that the shootings were a hoax, pointing to a 6-year-old girl named Emilie Parker, who was shot to death in the school massacre.

Or was she? They claim that the smoking-gun photographic proof that Emilie is still alive is that she was photographed after the shooting with President Obama during a visit with the families. The girl is actually Emilie’s sister, wearing the same dress that Emilie wore in another photograph.

In the topsy-turvy world of conspiracy thinking, any little girl who resembles Emilie and is wearing the same dress as one she owned must be her. It could not possibly be her sister, who could not possibly be wearing either Emilie’s dress or an identical one. Instead, it’s obviously proof that the whole shooting was faked.

But this claim, even if it were true, raises more questions than it answers. For example, if Sandy Hook was indeed a “staged event” as claimed, with Emilie Parker alive and the president part of the conspiracy, why would the government be so careless as to release a photograph of Emilie, knowing that she had been reported dead in a carefully orchestrated national hoax? Is a widely published photo opportunity with the president of the United States really the best place to hide someone who is supposedly dead?

Conspiracy theorist websites offer dozens of other examples and pieces of evidence, ranging from real or perceived contradictions in eyewitness accounts to conflicting news reports. And indeed there are some contradictions. [The 10 Most Bizarre Conspiracy Theories]

    The minds of conspiracy theorists

But what the conspiratorial mind sees as misinformation and lies, others see as merely perfectly ordinary incomplete and inaccurate information following a multifaceted tragedy. Especially in the hours and first days after such a chaotic and horrifying event, witnesses can be confused and mistaken. Police officers and reporters can misspeak, or be given incorrect information.

Not every single statement about what occurred, from dozens of different people in different places at different times, will agree in every detail. Three different witnesses to a minor car accident will often give three slightly different accounts of what they saw, so it’s unrealistic to expect dozens of people who were involved in a chaotic school massacre to report exactly the same things.

Part of the reason that conspiracy theories linger is that any contradictory evidence — no matter how conclusive or compelling — can just be dismissed by claiming that it’s part of the cover-up. There is ultimately no evidence that would satisfy most conspiracy theorists. Those who distrust the government will use any excuse to support their beliefs, logical or not. Conspiracy theorists prefer complex mysteries over simple truths, and find mystery where none exists.

Research has shown not only that a person who believes in one conspiracy theory is likely to support others, but also contradictions don’t deter conspiracy theorists.

The idea that the Sandy Hook massacre was faked is not only absurd, but also an insult to the victims of the tragedy. The victims are really, provably gone; they are not safely hidden away somewhere until the Sandy Hook shooting has served its ultimate goal of taking away America’s guns. The bullet holes are there. The children and adults are dead. Toxic conspiracies, however, will live on.

Benjamin Radford is deputy editor of Skeptical Inquirer science magazine and author of six books, including “Media Mythmakers: How Journalists, Activists, and Advertisers Mislead Us.” His website site is http://www.BenjaminRadford.com.

This is confirmed by a camera recording of a google search per the above video link. This is fact and cannot be disputed by anyone. Why was this website created at least three days before the school shooting?

Why was this website created a day prior to the shooting? More “conspiracy theory” nonsense? This is confirmed by a camera recording of a google search per the above video link. Just a snippet from that fateful day, at around 2 pm (give or take)that Friday, my co-worker started crying, both my boss and I came into her office, she had heard from her girl friend that her son had not been found. Saturday morning, I go into work, there in my email is a Christmas card from my co-worker, that had been sent to her from the family that had lost their son, you know one of those Christmas cards that shows the family and the card had been sent out previously. That weekend and week, my co-worker went numerous times to visit the family and apparently there was an outpouring of food and generosity of people far and wide for all of the families. When Obama came that Sunday and met with each family, the mother who lost her son, gave him a piece of her mind, my co worker still will not say what the mom said to Obama, but it must of been good. You can say what you want about that day, but this woman did lose her son.
