In reply to “Warfare State Wins Reelection, Along with Obama,” by John Glaser, 11/06/12:

I would have thought foreign policy was not a key issue in the election and that plenty of Americans voted for Obama even though they disagreed with his foreign policy while others voted for Romney who also did no agree with his foreign policy.

So I just don’t agree that the vote was a ringing endorsement for perpetual war. I am not saying that Obama will not take it as such and go to war with Iran but it seems to me that with since the US constitutes only 4% of the world’s population it cannot continually be responsible for 50% of the world’s military expenditure and as Obama seeks massive cuts next year then there must grow a major demand that what needs to be cut is military expenditure, and no war with Iran.

It is an area that all sections of the anti war movement can work on together.

As I am Irish and not an American, some might say its non of my business, however since the historic links are so strong, and a war with Iran would not just be a disaster for the Iranians, but the rest of the people of the world as well, including the Irish, I don’t agree.

Keep up the good work. I go on to your site every day to remind myself that that there are some very good and sane Americans opposing war.
