Azerbaijan win Eurovision contest with Running Scared

Millions of people tuned in to watch Azerbaijan become the surprise winners of the Eurovision song contest.

Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal of Ell/Nikki won the most votes with their song Running Scared which scored 221 points.

It is the first time that Azerbaijan has won the contest in its 56-year history.

More than 100 million people were expected to watch the televised event which was broadcast from the country of last year's winner-Germany.
