Egypt U-20 national team coach praises the performance of his team's players after claiming their fourth African Championship title

Egypt's U-20 national team coach Rabie Yassin believes that his players deserved to win the African Youth Cup after their superb performance throughout the tournament. Espeically, their victory over Ghana 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

"I am very pleased with my boys led by captain Ramy, they have played some lovely football throughout this tournament," Yassin told the games post press conference.

"They thoroughly deserve to win the African Youth Cup," he added.

"I have been with this team for four and a half years and know them very well on and off the field,"

"So much hard work and long hours have gone into this team and it is fantastic to get the results we got." The Egypt coach said.

The 52-year-old tactician also praised the Ghanaian team, believing they are a strong team to beat.

"Ghana were worthy competitors tonight and as you saw the two sides could only be separated by penalties, which shows it was a tough game." The coach concluded.

The Egypt team captain Rami Rabeia is happy for winning the trophy, noting his role in leading the team to the victory.

"It is such a great feeling winning the CAF U-20 championship and it was a tough game but we fought hard and everyone is pleased with this victory," Rabeia said.

In penalties, defender Rabeia wasted Egypt's first effort but matters were evened up when Awad blocked Ghana's third kick, which was taken by Adams Ahmed.

Both sides converted the rest of their five spot kicks until the sudden death, when Egypt prevailed to lift the trophy.

"I took the first penalty because l wanted to motivate and encourage my team mates by leading by example but l missed my kick,"

"Anyways the rest of the guys were able to score and we won." The Egypt U-20 team's captain concluded.
