4/24/2013 Miikka Salomaki, RW The Nashville Predators signed 2011 second-round draft pick Salomaki to a three-year, entry-level contract Wednesday.

Analysis: The 2009-10 Finnish Junior League rookie of the year, Salomaki has spent three seasons with Karpat Oulu of the Finnish Elite League. The left wing had 25 goals, 25 assists and 153 penalty minutes in 122 games. This season, the 5-foot-11, 205-pound Salomaki had 19 points and 44 penalty minutes in 42 games. He also has played for Finland in the last three World Junior Championships.
4/24/2013 Dustin Brown, RW Brown was suspended for two games without pay by the NHL on Wednesday for elbowing Minnesota forward Jason Pominville on Tuesday night.

Analysis: The suspension will cost Brown $34,324. He will miss the final two regular-season games.
4/24/2013 Duncan Keith, D Keith says he meant no disrespect to women during an argument with a female radio reporter in Vancouver. Keith, preparing for a game in Edmonton against the Oilers, said Wednesday he was ``fired up'' after Chicago lost 3-1 to the Vancouver Canucks.

Analysis: Reporter Karen Thomson asked him about a possible penalty involving Canucks forward Daniel Sedin. Keith questioned her hockey knowledge and mockingly suggested she might be a candidate to become the NHL's first female referee. Keith says he doesn't like losing and adds he doesn't differentiate between male and female reporters. Thomson said on Twitter she believes the comments were made in the heat of moment and she has moved on.

Analysis: The 23-year-old left wing is currently out with a broken index finger on his right hand and is expected to miss the club's final two regular-season games. He is one of the reasons the Blue Jackets are in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race, entering Tuesday's play in eighth place.
