Chongqing river port's container volume increases 16.9pc in May
Southwest China's IT product manufacturing base of Chongqing recorded a container volume of 53,542 TEU in May, up 16.86 per cent year on year, Xinhua reports.
Foreign shipments increased 10.85 per cent to 26,171 TEU. Domestic shipments grew 23.24 per cent to 27,371 TEU year on year that month.
The river port's cargo tonnage totalled to 9.04 million tonnes, up 27.9 per cent. Outbound cargo increased 17.61 per cent to 3.36 million tonnes while inbound cargo rose 35 per cent to 5.68 million tonnes.
