At least 88 Iraqis were killed and 242 were wounded in attacks that including coordinated bombings throughout the capital. Mosul also suffered violence, but it was unclear if those attacks were planned together.
In Baghdad province, at least 17 bombs killed 65 people and wounded about 190 more in predominantly Shi’ite neighborhoods. Among these attacks were: Two bombs in Karrada killed nine people and wounded 17 more. Eight people were killed and 29 more were wounded in Tobchi. Three people were killed and 13 more were wounded in another bombing in Bayaa. A bomb in Zaafaraniya left six dead and 15 wounded​. Two bombs in New Baghdad left five dead and 17 wounded​. Four people were killed and 12 more were wounded in a blast in Shurta. A bomb at a Sahwa leaders’s home in Madaen left five dead and four wounded​. Six civilians were wounded in a separate bombing.
In Mosul, a suicide bomber killed a woman and wounded 25 others. Gunmen kidnapped three policemen and their driver, killing two of them and wounding the other two. Gunmen killed a policeman and wounded another​. A policeman was killed and three civilians were wounded in a shooting that targeting a patrol. A nine-year-old was wounded in a mortar attack. A hand grenade wounded a policeman​. An I.E.D. killed three soldiers and wounded two civilians​.
In Baquba​, gunmen killed a Sahwa leader and two bodyguards​. A bomb wounded a civilian. An I.E.D. killed one civilian and wounded another​.
A roadside bomb in Muqdadiya killed a policeman and wounded two more. Gunmen killed a person and wounded three more, including a woman.
A sticky bomb killed a civilian in Shirqat. Three soldiers were killed and an officer was wounded in a separate bombing.
A soccer player died in a previously reported attack in Samarra​.
Gunmen in Kirkuk wounded a senior police officer.
A civilian was killed, while his mother and a seven-year-old were wounded during a small arms attack in Garma.
A bomb in Aneh killed a policeman and wounded two more.
One policeman was killed and two more were wounded in a bombing targeting a colonel in Raswa.
