Diabetes is one of the biggest health issues throughout the Arab world, and there is no better expert on the matter than Professor Morsi Arab.
He is currently chairman of the International Diabetes Federation Eastern Mediterranean and Middle-East (EMME) Region. He is Emeritus Professor and Ex-Head of the Department of Medicine of the University of Alexandria, Egypt, and also the Founder and President of the Egyptian Diabetes Association. Over the past 20 years, Professor Arab has held numerous positions within the IDF, including regional chairman and vice-president. He has also set up and held leading positions in pan-African, Arab and Mediterranean groups for the study of diabetes. He has authored and contributed to numerous books on diabetes, the history of medicine and poetry, and has also been editor-in-chief and reviewer for several international diabetes magazines. Professor Arab is widely regarded as the most influential medical figure from the Arab world in the battle against diabetes. He is the third new entry in our top ten this year.
