To comment on blog posts, enter contests other than the Cartoon Caption Contest, use the Cartoon Kit, and enjoy other special features as they become available, register for the newyorker.com community. Registration is free. If you have already registered for the newyorker.com community but can’t remember your username or password, you can retrieve your log-in information. You can also change your username or e-mail address or update your profile at any time.

Digital edition

To use the digital edition—a visual replica of the printed magazine—you must either be a paid subscriber of The New Yorker or purchase access to a single issue.

If you have a print subscription to The New Yorker and haven’t used the digital edition, register now at our customer care site, where you can manage your print subscription as well. You will be prompted to create a customer care username and password. From there you can activate digital access to your subscription. Once you have activated your digital subscription, use the log-in panel to enter your e-mail address and password. To update the e-mail address associated with your registration, please visit our customer care site. If you’ve forgotten your password, use the link on the log-in panel; your password will be e-mailed to you.

If you don’t have a print subscription to the magazine, you can access this week’s issue online in one of four ways:

Subscribe to the magazine. A print subscription comes with access to the digital edition, which includes our complete archive.

Subscribe to the digital edition. Your digital-only subscription includes access to the archive.

Sign up for a free, four-issue preview of the digital edition. Does not include access to the archive.

— Purchase a single issue by following the links from our Table of Contents page or from the abstract of any story.

If you purchased a single issue or a digital-only subscription and need help with your username and password, send an e-mail to our digital edition support desk.

For more information about the digital edition, try our digital edition F.A.Q.

Cartoon Caption Contest

To enter the Cartoon Caption Contest, vote on finalists, and view the caption contest archives, you need to register for the Cartoon Caption Contest. This is also free. If you’ve forgotten your password for the caption contest, retrieve it here.
