Welcome to The Washington Post Wine Club. This site is operated by Global Wine Company, Inc. under an agreement between Global Wine Company, Inc. and WP Company LLC d/b/a The Washington Post (collectively “We” and “Us”). We are committed to respecting your privacy and recognizing your need for appropriate protection and management of personally identifiable information you share with us (the phrase "personally identifiable information" means any information by which you can be reasonably identified, such as your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, etc.). The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you what personally identifiable information we may collect from you, how we use such information, and the choices you have regarding our use of, and your ability to review and correct, the information. This policy applies only to customers in the United States.


This site is directed to adults ages 21 or older. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from individuals under the age of 13.

Collecting Information About You

There may be times (such as when you purchase or order a product or subscribe to a service) when we ask you to provide certain information about yourself, such as your name, shipping/billing address, telephone number, email address, credit card information, etc. We may also maintain a record of your product purchases.


Whether or not to provide such information is completely your own choice. But if you choose not to provide the information we request, you may be unable to purchase products, or access certain services, offers and content on our web site. In addition, we may need to contact you via phone, email or mail to address questions or issues specific to your specific to your order or your account, even if you have opted to not receive communications from us.

We may track the Internet domain address from which people visit us and analyze this data for trends and statistics, but individual users will remain anonymous, unless you voluntarily tell us who you are.

We use the personal information you provide for internal purposes, such as confirming and tracking your order, subscription or registration, analyzing trends and statistics, providing you with information (including by email if you have provided us with your email address) from and about The Washington Post Wine Club and Us, and in other ways as described to you at the point of collection or otherwise.

We may share the information, including personally identifiable information that we collect about you in limited circumstances, including:

  • We may share your personally identifiable information with our corporate parents and/or affiliates
  • We may contract with companies or persons ("Service Providers") to provide certain services, including credit card processing, shipping, data management, promotional services, and so on. We provide our Service Providers with the information needed for them to perform these services. We also ask our Service Providers to confirm that their privacy practices are consistent with ours.
  • We may disclose your personal information when we have reason to believe that it is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against persons or entities who may be causing injury to you, to us or to others. We may also disclose your personal information when we believe the law requires it.

We do not use your email address or other personally identifiable information to send commercial or marketing messages without your consent or except as part of a specific program or feature for which you will have the ability to opt-in or opt-out. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications by emailing us at support@washingtonpostwine.com or by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link in any email sent by us or by replying to any email sent by us and entering the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject line. We may, however, use your email address without further consent to send you non-marketing or administrative communications (such as notifying you of major website changes or for customer service purposes).

Editing, Updating, Correcting and Deleting Information About You

If you prefer not to receive information from us, or if you would like to access, update, correct, or delete your email address, mailing address or other personally identifiable information with us, please let us know by calling Customer Service at 855-263-8989, or email us at support@washingtonpostwine.com. Please be sure to include your email address, full name, and the information that you do not want to receive or that you would like updated or corrected. Please note that even if you have opted to not receive some forms of communication from us, we may need to contact you via phone, email or mail to address questions or issues specific to your order or your account.

Cookies

Our web sites use "cookies." A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. Generally, we use cookies to remind us of who you are, tailor our products and services to suit your personal interests, estimate our audience size, and to process your order, and/or analyze your visiting patterns. This website is hosted in the United States and is intended for and directed to users in the United States. If you are a user accessing the Website from the European Union, Asia, or any other region with laws or regulations governing personal data collection, use, and disclosure, that differ from United States laws, please be advised that through your continued use of this website, which are governed by U.S. law, this Privacy Policy, and our Terms of Use, you are transferring your personal information to the United States and you consent to that transfer.

Policy Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy in whole or in part, we will inform you by posting a notice on our web site, and/or in other ways as appropriate based on the changes. Those changes will go into effect on the date posted in the notice. The new policy will apply to all current and past users of our web site and will replace any prior policies that are inconsistent.
