BAGHDAD / Nina /Iraqi football national team is heading next Thursday to Jeddah to participate in the Arab Cup Championship in its ninth edition which will be launched on Friday with the participation of 11 teams after the withdrawal of Arab Emirates.
The Iraqi delegation is headed by the secretary of the Iraqi Central Football Tariq Ahmed and includes training team, administrators, therapists and 23 players. It is mentioned that this is the fifth participation of Iraq in the competition, which started in 1963 in Lebanon and Iraq had the honor of organizing the third edition of the championship in 1966 and won Syria 2-1.
The Iraqi national team will play the first match in the tournament on Sunday in Jeddah against Lebanese team where Iraq plays as part of the third group, which includes Lebanon, Egypt, and Sudan. Iraqi team will play his second game with Egypt in 26 of June in Jeddah then plays with Sudan in 29, in Jeddah. / End
