Amanda is a freelance journalist, poet and blogger who graduated from Davidson College with an English degree in May 2012. She has worked as a part-time sports reporter in Pennsylvania and courthouse reporter in North Carolina, and in Tanzania as a volunteer primary school teacher and foreign correspondent for a website aimed at women travelers.

Amanda was a four-year member of Davidson’s women’s basketball team in addition to serving as vice-president of the college’s slam poetry group, FreeWord, and as editor of the satire section in the campus newspaper, The Davidsonian. In late spring 2010 she spent a month studying art history and photography in Parma, Italy, and interned at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis the following summer. She is currently pursuing a career in journalism and is delighted to be working with people doing her dream job: traveling the world and telling the stories of the people in it.
