Egypt’s interim president called in his meeting with journalists on Wednesday for a media code of ethics that guarantees press freedom and professionalism.

Earlier today, Adli Mansour met with a number of journalists, including Mostafa Bakry, Dina Abdel Rahman, Moataz al-Demerdash, Sherif Amer, Wael al-Ibrashy and Mona al-Shazly.

The code of ethics will push for an Egyptian media that is more credible and objective, the state news agency reported Mansour as saying.

The interim president added that the administration also aspires for press that puts national interest on top as the post-Mohamed Mursi roadmap had promised.
