Update: Watch the entire episode here. Below, watch a clip in which Colbert dances to "Get Lucky" with Hugh Laurie, Jeff Bridges, Bryan Cranston, Matt Damon, and the Rockettes, plus on the sets of "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" and "America's Got Talent".

Bad news: Daft Punk were the scheduled guests for tonight's episode of "The Colbert Report". They were headlining this year's StePhest Colbchella, and were presumably going to perform "Get Lucky", but the appearance has been canceled. Apparently, this is because they're scheduled to make a surprise appearance at the VMAs, and performing on "Colbert" would breach their contractual obligation with MTV.

Update: Robin Thicke filled in and performed a different song featuring Pharrell, "Blurred Lines". So maybe it was the plan all along-- an elaborate fake out to promote Daft Punk's appearance at the VMAs. But maybe Robin Thicke, his dancers, and his band were actually able to pull off an elaborate performance with only two hours' notice.
