As a photographer of 18 years, I've travelled all over the world taking pictures: Beijing, Tobago, Europe, North Africa, and Brazil. The only place I ever get prevented from doing so is in my home town of Hull! I've been pushed away from the cenotaph by a PCSO; been threatened with having my equipment confiscated at the cenotaph; had my name and address taken at an EDL march for the police to check I'm not a danger while the EDL were permitted to incite racial hatred and scream abuse at people - they didn't get their details taken; been told I can't photograph a police officer stopping cars for driving in a bus lane and at an armed forces march a fight broke out between two wheelchair users and the PCSO cited privacy laws that don't exist to stop me from photographing it - I was also threatened with arrest.
Have you been stopped or questioned? Did the officer state which law you were stopped under? What was the outcome? How did it make you feel? How did you respond?
