Mr. Abdel Rahman Al-Rashid is Director General of the Dubai-based Al-Arabiyya satellite news channel. In 1977, he became an editor of the Riyadh-based Al-Jazeera newspaper. He also worked as a correspondent and later as director of its Washington bureau from 1981 to 1985. From 1987 to 1998 he was editor-in-chief of the London-based Al Majala magazine, and from 1998 to 2003 he was editor-in-chief of Al-Sharq Al-Awsat.

Mr. Al-Rashid is a media expert with a bachelor's degree in visual media from the American University in Washington, D.C. He created and produced a number of documentaries and TV programs, and presented the Hour in Politics program of the Lebanese  Future TV channel. He has participated in several cultural forums.
